Dry Shampoo is what professionals swear by. It keeps color looking fresh and vibrant longer, adds volume, soaks up oil—in some cases, it even doubles as a hair perfume! And according to the bottle, it’s easy to apply: just spray on, brush out, and get fabulous looking hair!
But, as you know, it’s just not that easy. One of the biggest complaints I hear from dry shampoo users is that their dry shampoo is not necessarily eliminating the oil at their roots. I then ask them to show me how you’re applying it. Pretend we’re in your bathroom right now, I say, and pretend like you’re spraying it in your hair. Almost every time, this is what it looks like:
Step 1: Sprays on roots and areas that are prone to oil.
Step 2: Waits for a minute.
Step 3: Brushes out.
But you need to do one more thing to get that life-saving look that can only be achieved with dry shampoo:
Act like you’re actually in the shower with your shampoo and scrub your dry shampoo into your head as you would with regular shampoo! It seems bizarre at first, but that won’t matter once you see the results.
I will work/massage my dry shampoo through my hair for one to two minutes, and then let it sit for an additional few minutes before brushing it out. This helps clean out even the most stubborn oil and sweat build up! Add this simple step to your dry shampoo routine for beautiful, fresh looking hair!
❤Always!
