MustHave: Trendy Indoor Plants

If you’re anything like me, you love plants but don’t have the green thumb needed to care for them! It’s the same story every time: I get a new plant I absolutely adore. Then I forget to water it—or worse—over water it! And don’t get me started on the issue of sunlight!

This pattern of buying and killing cute plants is why I’ve taken the time to identify 8 potted plants that will be perfect for your trendy home. (Don’t worry: I’ll tell you how much water and sunlight each plant needs, on a scale of 1-5 ☀💧!)

String of Pearls:

This plant is will look perfect hanging from the ceiling in a cute, decorated pot; or cascading over the side of a bookshelf. Just make sure that this plant gets plenty of sun and water!

Snake:

This trendy plant is great for your dimmer rooms, as it only needs a little sun. Plus, it doesn’t need much water; so it’ll survive if you forget to water occasionally! It’s the perfect low-maintenance plant.

Kentia Palm:

The Kentia Palm can get very tall, if you plant it in the right pot and give it enough love! So, this plant can make the perfect statement piece for your living room.

Jade:

Jade stays relatively small, so it fits neatly onto a shelf or counter. But make sure you give this plant access to lots of sunlight and water!

Fiddle Leaf Fig:

This is another plant that can quite really tall, really fast. It fits perfectly into the corner of a well light room. You could even place the pot into a woven basket (like in the picture) for a fun and fresh look.

Spider:

The mellow spider plant is great to keep indoors because it has been proven to reduce indoor pollutants! It’s also fairly resilient, so it can hand being re-potted into a cute mug or tea cup (like in the picture above).

Rubber:

Rubber plants can are medium-sized plants, that can easily be encouraged to grow big and strong! It does need lots of water and sunlight, so be sure to place this plant by a window with lots of access to natural light.

Aloe:

Fun Fact: the Aloe plant is actually what they extract Aloe Vera from, which can help soothe mild burns. Medicinal properties aside, this plant will make the perfect addition to your collection!
